You know it's time to get your hair done...

I haven't been up to Chicago since August, which means I haven't had my hair cut since then. (My favorite hairdresser is at Mario Tricoci, Woodfield Mall.)

My hair grows really fast, so I'm turning into one of those Weird Old(er) Ladies with Long Hair. My husband prefers it long, so it's not entirely a bad thing. Except that it suddenly hit me what my hair reminds me of: an afghan hound.

I asked my long-suffering husband, who is much handier with Paint and Photoshop than I am, to clarify this:

Yep. That's what it looks like. Good thing I'll be in Chicago next month. Until then, I only have one thing to say.

"Woof."

Proof how weird this family is: When I said to dad, "Would you mind Photoshopping a picture of me onto a picture of an Afghan hound?" he didn't even blink.

(There's a joke in there somewhere...)

It was nice of him to do it, too - it took a lot more work than I realized!

You are too funny! I bet the longer hair looks amazing!

It's driving me nuts, Tonya! On the plus side, I can pull it into a ponytail when it gets on my nerves. On the down side, I HAVE to use a headband, barrettes or combs to keep it out of my face. Grrr.

Becke, the photo shop picture is hysterical. I think you should frame it. :)

Also, you have beautiful hair. Whatever the length.

Thanks, Mary - I'm noticing more gray creeping in but I've never had any luck with hair dye. I definitely need a cut. I just hope the stylist I like isn't on vacation when I go to Chicago!
